How to prepare asbestos safely for collection

Asbestos must be packaged correctly before our driver arrives. This protects you, our driver, and anyone handling the waste at the disposal facility.

Do not break sheets or sand surfaces — keep material intact. Broken edges release fibres.
Wrap whole sheets in 1000-gauge polythene. Standard sheets are 6ft × 3ft, up to 25kg.
Double-bag smaller pieces in red asbestos bags, max 15kg.
Label clearly with asbestos warning markings.
Dampen material lightly to reduce dust. Do not soak it.
Wear proper PPE — disposable coveralls, FFP3 mask, gloves, goggles.
