How skip hire works in Andover
We have worked in waste since 2007. In Andover we work with established, fully licensed local skip hire partners, and you book direct with The Waste Group. We are not a third-party comparison site: you get one price, one booking and one point of contact.
Prices vary across Andover because the area is covered by more than one partner depending on the part of town. As a guide, inc VAT:
- 4 yard skip from £306.72 in much of SP10 and the north-west of SP11
- from £345.60 for the SP11 8 and SP11 9 area
- from £356.40 in other sectors we reach through a Salisbury partner
Enter your postcode and you will see the price that applies to you, with no hidden extras.
Choosing a skip size
Most Andover jobs fall into three sizes:
- 4 yard: a garden clear-out, a small bathroom or a patio.
- 6 yard: a kitchen refit, a loft clearance or a small extension.
- 8 yard: a whole-house clearance or a larger build.
A 12 yard is available in much of Andover for big jobs, but it cannot take soil and rubble, which is too heavy. If you are unsure, go one size up: a part-empty skip costs far less than a second one.
Soil, rubble and plasterboard need to be separate
Heavy inert waste (soil, bricks, concrete, tiles) is best kept in its own skip, and can often be priced lower than general waste. Plasterboard must be kept separate by law, so mixing it into a general skip can lead to extra charges. Tell us what you are clearing when you book and we will recommend the right skip. Our guide to what can and cannot go in a skip covers it in full.
Asbestos can never go in a standard skip. Cement sheet roofs and garages are common around Andover. We arrange safe, licensed disposal separately: see asbestos disposal.
Where we cover
All of SP10 and SP11, including Andover town centre, Abbotts Ann, Charlton, Enham Alamein, Hurstbourne Tarrant and Stockbridge. For nearby Salisbury, see skip hire in Salisbury. Our full Andover area page lists the details.
Do I need a permit?
Only if the skip goes on a public road. On a drive or private land you do not need one. On the highway, the permit comes from Test Valley Borough Council. We can arrange it for you, but it normally takes 3 to 5 working days, so tell us when you book.
Bigger jobs
For a large clear-out or a building site, a roll-on roll-off container can be better value than several skips. See roll-on roll-off hire, or call us and we will price both.
